# 🌲What is Dartmouth Blockchain?

Dartmouth Blockchain is an ecosystem for committed, talented Dartmouth students to build their blockchain competency and connect with other students interested in blockchain technology. Dartmouth Blockchain was created to foster a stronger blockchain-focused atmosphere at Dartmouth, a place typically reserved for traditional finance and big tech.

We believe blockchain technology will have a significant net positive impact on humanity. Because of this belief, we want to foster a stronger focus on blockchain at Dartmouth.

Dartmouth Blockchain helps to create this environment via member meetings, events, mixers with other blockchain clubs, and blockchain building/hacking support.

To learn more about the roles in Dartmouth Blockchain, read on...

# Current Projects

A short breakdown on the projects some Core members are working on independently

We love to showcase what our members are working on outside of the club. Feel free to reach out to any of the team members below if you want to support or hear more about their projects.

[**Anthias.xyz**](https://www.anthias.xyz)

[Anthias.xyz](https://www.anthias.xyz) is a suite of blockchain data analytics tools created to simplify and democratize access to important blockchain data. The initial tool was a dashboard to track the liquidation health of borrowers on Aave. The team is rapidly expanding its offering of this liquidation health dashboard to other protocols while also expanding its product suite. Anthias was approved for [Gitcoin's GR15](https://gitcoin.co/grants/7107/defishyxyz-democratizing-blockchain-data). The team also finished its first grant with Euler Finance in September. Since then, the team has received more grants from DAOs including Aave, Euler, and Compound.

**DB VC Team**

The DB VC Team works directly with blockchain venture capitalists on technical research for a variety of new crypto projects. The team adds direct value to the crypto ecosystem and the VCs it works with through its reports and research. This team was launched in fall of 2023.

**Dorm DAO Team**

The Dorm DAO team is focused on the Dorm DAO Ivy League trading competition hosted by Web3 VC firm Collab+Currency. The team develops trading and investment strategies for liquid Ethereum-based tokens and deploys these strategies via a Gnosis safe.

*Disclaimer: The Dartmouth Blockchain Student Society is not directly associated with any of these projects. Members of the club meet to chat about what they are building outside of the club. The club (Dartmouth Blockchain Student Society) does not manage funds or do any form of collaboration with outside organizations or companies. Any outside organization or company using Dartmouth Blockchain branding is not permitted by Dartmouth Blockchain Student Society.*

# Sampling of Past Projects

A short breakdown on the projects some Core members worked on independently in the past

We love to showcase what our members have worked on outside of the club. Feel free to reach out to any of the team members below if you want to support or hear more about their projects.

**Forest Fund**** (Fall 2022 - Spring 2023)**

The Forest Fund focuses on a variety of investment opportunities around the blockchain ecosystem. The Fund founders Jackson Gerard and Max Sclar raised their first capital by doing in-depth researching over the 22F term and break. With this capital, the team has been researching Bitcoin mining opportunities as well as trading.

*Team: Jackson Gerard, Max Sclar*

**DB VC Team - Green**** (Spring 2023 - Summer 2023)**

The DB VC Team works directly with blockchain venture capitalists on technical research for a variety of new crypto projects. The team adds direct value to the crypto ecosystem and the VCs it works with through its reports. This team was launched in spring of 2023.

*Team: Aaron Xie, Robbie Blank, Nicolás Schaievitch, DJ Matusz*

**DB VC Team - Black**** (Spring 2023 - Summer 2023)**

The DB VC Team works directly with blockchain venture capitalists on technical research for a variety of new crypto projects. The team adds direct value to the crypto ecosystem and the VCs it works with through its reports. This team was launched in spring of 2023.

*Team: James Park, Ben Williams, Liam Tassiello, Joshua Piesner*

[**Forest Blockchain Research Team**](https://medium.com/@dartmouthblockchain) **(Fall 2022)**

The [Forest Blockchain Research](https://medium.com/@dartmouthblockchain) Team develops in-depth reports and essays around all aspects of decentralized finance. In-depth, industry-leading research is something members of Dartmouth Blockchain pride themselves on, and the Forest Blockchain Research Team plans to continue that output through this project. The team's 22F focus was on primary risk vectors in DeFi borrowing and lending markets, and they published [a paper](https://medium.com/@dartmouthblockchain/a-hitchhikers-guide-to-on-chain-unsecured-lending-a0b4f8a16bef) on this topic at the end of 22F about undercollateralized lending markets like Maple Finance and TrueFi. During 23S, the team will be focused on other topics around decentralized governance and risk management.

*Team: Full Core, Led by Charlie Ambrose*

[**A Decentralized Governance System for the Future**](https://mirror.xyz/0x389E3d1c46595aF7335F8C6D3e403ce2E8a9cf8A/OMnEGGrJbEh-N0NHhuDmLvQreHbrZRaBls3HYSTSWhk) **(Spring 2022)**

This project was a research piece a team worked on in collaboration with [dYdX](https://twitter.com/dydxfoundation/status/1514489817626996737?s=20\&t=JcwY_syQyPQUw1SG2Pu_vg) during the spring of 2022. Decentralized governance is an area with major benefits if executed correctly; the team saw flaws in the current governance system of most DAOs and took a term to research a few potential solutions in collaboration with the governance team at dYdX.

*Team: Charlie Ambrose, Amayr Babar, Max Sclar*

[**Autonoma**](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KBIgwTAi4xvK0Wpgh0lU-JS9hany85YRI_LEV5KoAH4/edit?usp=sharing) **(Spring 2022)**

Autonoma is a protocol whitepaper a team worked during the spring of 2022. Autonoma is an idea to facilitate the creation, issuance, and redemption of principal tokens (PTs) and yield tokens (YTs) for vault positions. The goal of Autonoma is to be a permissionless and universal yield tokenization factory for all vault positions, starting with ERC-4626 compliant vaults. The protocol is open, non-rent-seeking, and aims towards complete decentralization. The team did not continue work on Autonoma due to a variety of factors, but it was a great project that led to more connections and ideas.

*Team: Atharv Agashe, Alex Craig, Aaron Xie*
